Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Moriel Pahima (Moriel Software Services), Israel ("we", "us"), the operator of the ALIBI game, its app and the website playalibi.io (together, "ALIBI"). By creating an account or playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use ALIBI.
1. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission. ALIBI is a murder-mystery game: its stories are fiction and deal with crime and deception.
2. Your account
You sign in with an email code or with Google. Keep access to your email and device secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Choose a display name that is not offensive and does not impersonate someone else. One person, one account.
3. How the game works, and the AI in it
Each round's story, the moderator's messages and the replies of bot players are written by artificial intelligence. They are generated automatically, can be wrong, odd or inconsistent, and are entertainment only. Nothing a bot or the moderator says is advice or a statement of fact about any real person. Seats filled by bots are marked as bots in the lobby.
4. Playing fair
When you use ALIBI you agree not to:
- harass, threaten or abuse other players, or post hateful, sexual or illegal content in the chat;
- share other people's personal information;
- cheat, exploit bugs, use automated tools to play, or try to get around the game limits;
- attack, overload, copy or reverse-engineer the service.
We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
5. Free play and ALIBI Plus
ALIBI is free to play within these limits: on the free plan you can start up to 2 games a day. Joining a game someone else started is always free and does not count.
ALIBI Plus is an optional subscription, sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play:
- Price: US$4.99 a month or US$29.99 a year. The store shows the price in your local currency, including any tax, before you pay.
- What it includes: you can start up to 10 games a day, to a maximum of 100 games a month. After 100 games in a month, the free plan's limit applies until the next month begins. Plus is not unlimited.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling: cancel at any time in your Apple or Google account's subscription settings. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.
- Payments and refunds: Apple or Google takes the payment and handles refunds under their own policies. We never see your card details.
We may change prices or limits in the future. A price change will not apply to a period you have already paid for, and the store will tell you before a renewal at a new price.
6. Your content
You keep the rights to what you write in the chat. You give us permission to store it, show it to the other players in your game, and process it (including with AI services) so that the game can run.
7. Our content
The ALIBI name, logo, artwork, characters, sounds and software belong to us or our licensors. Music by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. You may use ALIBI for personal, non-commercial play only.
8. Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Deleting it removes your profile and game history; it does not cancel a subscription, which you must cancel in your store account. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms.
9. No warranty
ALIBI is provided "as is". We work to keep it running well, but we do not promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that game content will be accurate or suitable for every player.
10. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law does not allow to be limited, including your rights as a consumer.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the courts of Israel have jurisdiction, without taking away any protection that the consumer law of your own country gives you.
